WHERE TO TREAT PERITONEAL PSEUDOMYXOMA

The recommendation from the main international society dedicated to peritoneal neoplasms (PSOGI) is that Pseudomyxoma Peritonei should be treated at reference centers for HIPEC by specialized teams.

Pseudomyxoma is the most complex tumor to treat with HIPEC. Compared to other indications for this surgery—ovarian tumors, colon cancer, gastric cancer—the surgeries for pseudomyxoma are more extensive and carry greater risk.

Not every center that performs HIPEC has the experience and resources to treat Pseudomyxoma.
